Wolfgang receives the Pôle Mer Méditerranée label for its project iAoPort : A Collaborative Platform for the environmental management of Ports and Yachts
The yachting industry faces a critical challenge: to ensure its long-term economic viability and social acceptance, it must embrace an environmental transition by reducing the environmental impact and vulnerabilities of its activities. However, quantifying these impacts is hindered by the heterogeneity of data sources and the lack of fine-grained analysis methods to understand the relationships between vessel activities and environmental impacts.
Enter Wolfgang and the iAoPort project, a groundbreaking platform that centralizes and harmonizes data for analysis and, with the support of deep learning models, better manages maritime activity. iAoPort will gather environmental and activity data from physical, optical, and satellite sensors, which will then be analyzed using AI algorithms. The platform aims to expand its reach to ship operators and the entire coastline.
Emerging from a collaboration between public and private research laboratories, companies, and institutional stakeholders, iAo and the Wolfgang Port and Yacht softwares will provide decision-makers and operators in the blue economy with the necessary steering and planning tools to envision sustainable economic development that does not compete with ecosystem preservation.
